Meet Kylie Oden
inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team Paramedic
1 year with the City of Santa Rosa
Meet Kylie Oden, a paramedic for Santa Rosa’s new inRESPONSE Mental Health Support Team. Kylie is one of three team members who respond to calls for service ranging from minor medical aids to mental health support, to calls for support for people experiencing homelessness. Kylie grew up right here in Santa Rosa and earned her Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration and Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification from Santa Rosa Junior College. Later, Kylie completed UCLA's paramedicine program. After graduation, she returned to work in Santa Rosa. Kylie is looking forward to attending the Fire Academy this summer. Kylie always knew she wanted a career in public safety, and because Santa Rosa is her hometown, she’s always wanted to work for the Santa Rosa Fire Department. She encourages other women to consider a career in public safety – it’s fulfilling, exciting, and always something new and different. Just get out there, meet people who hold the job you want, ride along and see what the public safety life is like. Always support and lift each other up along the way too! When Kylie isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, or you can catch her on the basketball court coaching the girls’ varsity basketball team at Maria Carrillo High School. Go Pumas!
